Red & Green Cupcakes

This really should have been entitled multicolored cupcakes, because you can do this with any color and you can do it with more than two colors if you have the patience. You can also make multicolored cake using this same method.

It is very simple to make cupcakes and cake with different colors. You simply separate your batter into different bowls and then add about 5 drops of food coloring into each bowl. For the cupcakes I only need two bowls, because only mixed to colors. I had one bowl of green batter and one bowl of red batter. Actually the red batter looked a little more like pink batter, but all you have to do is add more red coloring until you get close to the desired color. After you have mixed the food coloring into the batter, creating a solid color, pour one of the colors into each cup. Fill each cup about 1/3 full and then just pour the other color on top until each cup is 2/3 full. The key is not mixing the food coloring. You are just simply pouring the already colored batters on top of each other. I used white cake batter for my cupcakes.

I call this yummy creation my Crayola Party Cake! To make multicolored cake, you just do the same thing. Mix your colors in different bowls and then just pour the colored batters on top of each other in the cake pan or cake mold. Super simple, but fun and cute! People will love these!
