August ipsy Glam Bag 2013 Review

The August ipsy Glam Bag is all about back to school! It's basically like a "Glamour Academy" starter kit, things you'll need for the new school year, starting with mascara, because everyone needs mascara.

Pixi Beauty Lash Booster Mascara in Blackest Black
Pixi is a good brand. I use their primer and it works wonders. This is a very small sample, but I love getting mascara.

Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub
It feels a lot like a microdermabrasion scrub. Definitely gives a deep clean and it smells really good! This was one of the very many full-size objects I received in my ipsy bag this month. Getting more than samples in my glam bag each month is my favorite part of this subscription service.

Chella Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color Pencil
This was actually too dark for me, but the quality is great. This product makes it easier to shape your brows. It's much faster than using powder. This was another wonderful brand!

     noya Lip Balm
I don't know much about this brand, but lip balm is always a good thing to have around, especially with autumn approaching and the dry air with it.

     Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream
Pacifica is AMAZING! This is a great way to speed up your morning routine.

July 2013 ipsy Glam Bag Opening (Beach Beauty)

Such an awesome bag! This was one of my favorites! All of the products and the bag are fantastic! This was a bag I actually kept and use everyday, because I keep my everyday products in it ;)

I did not like the art this month, but everything else is great!
The POP Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush is very pink! I personally think the texture looks better with gloss on top. In the picture below I applied a clear glittery gloss on top of the Coral Crush Crayon.

The BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample was a nice set of three colors. The pigment is beautiful. The brown was top class; the gold is one of the prettiest colors I have ever used; the royal purple is pretty but kind of a weird texture and goes on very faint, you have to pack it on to make it stand out. I love that it is a magnetic palette. It looks nice and summery.

The Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray (Conditioning & Texturizing Spray) is my favorite product of July! I use it all the time. The bottle it a good size and I like the sprayer. Even though this is not a full size bottle, I love this bottle. It's not super sticky and stiff. It adds a lot of volume. I will definitely be buying this again! I'm wearing it in the pictures above.

The COOLA Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented Moisturizer is good. Sunscreen is always good, especially if I plan on going swimming or running, or when I'm working outside.
The Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer In Mai Tai is a bright orange, which is great, because I love orange nail polish! I have not tried it on, but I like the way Nailtini goes on.

2013 Colorado Summer Trip: Highlights

I think the best thing I got to do in Colorado was to go see the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg with my CO-fam. The Animal Sanctuary was established by Pat Craig. You can follow him and the sanctuary at @animalsanctuary on twitter. I am a huge animal lover and for me it was a beautiful sight to see what the Craig family and all of the sanctuary volunteers are doing for the animals who have been rescued and brought to this amazing facility! The people were so welcoming and full of information. It was an all-around wonderful place to be. Some footage of the sanctuary can be found in my travel vlog. You can also check out their website;

The boys loved going to the sanctuary and they still talk about it all the time. It was an incredible experience. This place does a good job of teaching children and adults how to respect and protect wild animals. The guests are able to see how the sanctuary works to provide healthy and comfortable lives for these animals. I encourage anyone who is in the area to visit the sanctuary and anyone who has the ability and the calling to help this sanctuary and the present and future animals who call this place their home to do so! Even a little money goes a long way when we come together and when we are doing something to help protect God's beautiful creations.

Another highlight of going to Colorado was all of the amazing hikes we went on! They were so much fun and the scenery was beautiful. I love the mountains! Pretty much everywhere you look in Colorado is like being witness to a dream. I would have been perfectly happy spending all of my time hiking, but I did end up going to flatiron Crossing. I went to the Disney Store which was a treat, because we no longer have one where I live. So I got a Monsters, Inc. mug! :) Sephora and Forever21 were no biggy, because I shop there all the time and I usually get that kind of stuff online, but I love going to the Forever21 at FlatIron because it's a good size; not too small, not too big. The Denver Museum was pretty cool! I really liked the gemstone exhibit. I learned a bunch while I was there and the boys did too.

Award-Winning Conversation #1 (Why Hermits Are Valuable.)

I think in life it is super important to point out those moments where you said something incredibly meaningful, philosophical, or sarcastic enough to end up on Gilmore Girls, but there was no one there to film you or write it down. The moments when you are very thankful for Facebook messaging, copy & paste, and blogger.com. Those times when you need a little public interjection on a private conversation...Okay, maybe that last one shouldn't be a reason. By the way, make sure you are in a sarcastic mood when you read this because nearly 99.98% of this ranting was sarcasm. Enjoy!

Me : why are there no trust worthy high schoolers out there to petsit anymore? Seriously, where did all the MEs go?! I was friends with a bunch of them in school. I know they exist. This is why I am not having children ever. finding sitters is annoying and just reminds me that everyone out there is untrustworthy and hates animals. We are living in my worst nightmare...Had to get that out there. Thank you for listening

Dad : What happened?

Me : I'm going through my contacts and realizing that I can never get any pets or adopt any orphans when I am out on my own unless I get all new friends. Out of everyone I know, there are only a total of two saints without fulltime jobs, and absolutely no dependable lifeless hermits, which at the time of my friend-picking hour did not seem so valuable, but now that I've had time to think about my decision I'm wondering; Where are all the hermits? And do they charge by the hour?

Dad : I'm sorry.

...Momentary Commentary : Am I wondering if he even read that second rant? No. Am I wondering if I rant too much? Not really. I am a girl after all. Should I be worried that this blog will get picked up by a Hollywood producer who will make a short film about it? Probably...The REAL Question; Am I wondering if this blog is going to make people afraid I will blog about them out frustration or boredom? ...It's an interesting thought...I'll let you know... ;)

Me : I'm going to blog this conversation.

Dad : ok

The LORD Looks @ the Heart!

I love playing with makeup! It's one of my favorite art mediums! When I wear it, especially when I come up with a new look I really like, it makes me feel more confident and creative :) I love making other women feel the same when they learn a new tip about how to apply makeup or take care of their skin. BUT I want to remind everyone that it is really what's on the inside that counts. Looking clean and well put together can help make a good first impression but it's the person underneath who makes all the difference!

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but The Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

Have a great Moday everybody! I hope you are inspired!

& Don't forget to check out the summer look for rainy days on this rainy day! ;D I filmed it in Colorado so the lighting is not all that great but it's just good enough lol

Also, I finished the June AddiUpdate last night! So go check that put too! After all, better late than never, right? It's got a few really exciting products I wanted to share with you and the May YouTube video favorite is revealed! Yay!

June AddiUpdate for 2013

June has been such a fun month and I'm really sorry this is being posted late again. I was traveling and I wanted to post at least one travel vlog first. But most of my May favorites were beauty products. What I did for the favorites this time since I was gone was I just did the things I bought in May that I liked enough to take with me on my trips.

     My May Favorites;
- Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Ultra-Hydrating Body Butter with Radiance from Sephora
- Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes from Sephora
- Special-Edition Beauty That Counts Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss and Crème Lipstick
- Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Beach Blonde
- Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Pink
Song: Walking On Air by Kerli
YouTube Video: 3 MINUTE MAKEUP CHALLENGE from kandee Johnson

There were a few brands offering products to help with charities and I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity and let you guys know what is out there. The two brands and collections I bought from were Josie Maran's Model Citizen collection which donates 10% of the sales to ISF and the Mary Kay Beauty That Counts collection that donates a dollar for each product to the Mary Kay Foundation. Josie Maran also has makeup remover wipes to support the Natural Resources Defense Council's Polar Bear SOS initiative. A portion of every package of Bear Naked Wipes sold goes towards their protection. And they are endangered, so this aid is very important in keeping these animals on the face of the earth. So I definitely encourage you guys to go check out these products and see if you're interested in helping out. ISF is pretty much a wonder charity, they do everything from protecting animals to green technology. They do a lot of environmental conservation and aid in ending animal cruelty. The Mary Kay Foundation helps women learn how to form healthy relationships and get out of domestic violence situations.

Here is my May 2013 collage!
