2013 Colorado Summer Trip: Highlights

I think the best thing I got to do in Colorado was to go see the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg with my CO-fam. The Animal Sanctuary was established by Pat Craig. You can follow him and the sanctuary at @animalsanctuary on twitter. I am a huge animal lover and for me it was a beautiful sight to see what the Craig family and all of the sanctuary volunteers are doing for the animals who have been rescued and brought to this amazing facility! The people were so welcoming and full of information. It was an all-around wonderful place to be. Some footage of the sanctuary can be found in my travel vlog. You can also check out their website;

     The boys loved going to the sanctuary and they still talk about it all the time. It was an incredible experience. This place does a good job of teaching children and adults how to respect and protect wild animals. The guests are able to see how the sanctuary works to provide healthy and comfortable lives for these animals. I encourage anyone who is in the area to visit the sanctuary and anyone who has the ability and the calling to help this sanctuary and the present and future animals who call this place their home to do so! Even a little money goes a long way when we come together and when we are doing something to help protect God's beautiful creations.

Another highlight of going to Colorado was all of the amazing hikes we went on! They were so much fun and the scenery was beautiful. I love the mountains! Pretty much everywhere you look in Colorado is like being witness to a dream. I would have been perfectly happy spending all of my time hiking, but I did end up going to flatiron Crossing. I went to the Disney Store which was a treat, because we no longer have one where I live. So I got a Monsters, Inc. mug! :) Sephora and Forever21 were no biggy, because I shop there all the time and I usually get that kind of stuff online, but I love going to the Forever21 at FlatIron because it's a good size; not too small, not too big. The Denver Museum was pretty cool! I really liked the gemstone exhibit. I learned a bunch while I was there and the boys did too.
