My June 21 of 2013 Was A Day To Be Thankful For!

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." - Colossians 4:2
I am just so super thankful for today! Today was a great day! I had 3 jobs in 1 day! I got to see a good friend of mine get married :) and then I got to go home and take a short nap before my second job, and I got a few chores out of the way before my last job, which is going great btw b/c the boys have been as sweet as can be and we've gotten to have some fun times tonight! I misses them so much while I was away, so it's been really nice to see them a couple times this week. I also have tomorrow off and the house to myself for most of the day which is great because I have been working 2-3 jobs a day ever since I got back Tuesday! SO obviously I have a lot to be thankful for! And I'm praying that God blesses others today, tomorrow, and on, and that I can remember these times when it doesn't seem like there's that much to be thankful for, because let's be honest, those times do come. Everyone has moments of self pity. But in those hours I pray today I will be thankful that there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. ;)
So friends, lets share our good moments. Let us share what we are thankful for. I am not ashamed of my good days, because my times of wellness are a blessing from Jesus. He has given me so much! So I am proclaiming it to the world! God is so good! I want to remember this day forever!
I didn't do anything epic today. I didn't start a movement that will go down in history books. I didn't write an award winning song, or paint a masterpiece, or win the lottery. I didn't fall in love and I didn't climb a mountain. But today was one of the best days of my life, because I was thankful and I got to be closer to God than I have been a long time. I am thankful for these days, because they remind me of God's presence. These are the days that fuel me for tomorrow and forever. Just sitting here, talking to all of you out there who may or may not read this, these are the moments I will never get back, but I can say "thank You" to God, because I am happy, because I know Him. These moments make me smile at myself and maybe even want to cry because I feel so blessed to be awake and to have Him in my life.
You know what, if you're reading this and your counting my spelling and grammar mistakes, because I am not going to go back over this and make any changes, because I think you need to hear from someone who's using their heart to speak. So stop counting, stop worrying. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Soak in the moment. Try and feel His presence. Think of what you are thankful for. What are thankful for? Because there is something...Easy for me to say, right? Well, let me put it to you this way. When I'm having a bad to day and I feel like the world hates and even start to hate myself a little, I want this me to come back and knock some sense into me, because this me knows the truth.
If you're out there, whoever you are, and you are reading this, I'm thankful for you. I think you are a beautiful person, because you were created by someone beautiful. I think you have the abilities and gifts God meant for you to have and I think you should spend every waking moment being thankful for them and using them to glorify Him. I want you to know you are loved! You are important. You wanted. And you don't ever have to be alone. Don't lose hope and be patient, and remember to always be thankful, because this life, here, on planet earth, it is too brief to spend in sorrow. I pray something I've makes some difference in someone's life...but even if no one gets to the end of this message or feels how I feel right now after reading it, this moment difference to me. It feels good to type my feelings out and even more than that, it feels good to know that on those dark days, I can come back to this.

Summer Look for Rainy Days! Bring the Sunshine Back :)

I wanted to film at least one makeup tutorial in Colorado this summer. I have worn this look a lot lately and I have done the eyeliner many different ways, but this became my favorite way of doing it because the subtle liner shows off the color best in my opinion.

Here are some pictures of the finished look and a full list of products used.

Products Used:
     - Too Faced Shadow Insurance
     - Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Beach Blonde
     - Coastal Scents Eyeshadows in Golden Globe and a light yellow color
     - ULTA Eyeshadows in Flirty, Zephyr, Plum Noir, Bloom, and Mink
     - Clinique Super Strawberry Chubby Stick
     - POP! Beauty Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara
     - Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Pink

Brushes:
     - Fluffy Bamboo Crease Brush
     - Bamboo Angle Brush
     - Smashbox Short Pencil Brush
     - Small Mary Kay Brush

Here are some examples of this look with liquid liner.

And finally, here are some examples with a darker thicker liner, making it almost impossible to see those beautiful colors.

The ZOYA nail polish is absolutely beautiful! Mine is called "Julie" and I put some gold sparkles over it when I wore it. I really liked the contrast of the two colors. The look reminded me of Jasmine from Aladdin. The polish is probably my third favorite product for May though, because I use the concealer everyday, and the lip gloss has become one of my new favorite products to wear. I love that it is from Juice Beauty and it is definitely something I would buy again. I don't really use the instant tan stuff very much and I just have not gotten the chance to try out the perfecting powder yet, because I have been traveling, but I cannot wait to try it out! I gave the bag to my sister as part of her graduation gift, because she is also going to be traveling some this summer and I didn't know whether or not she had a nice small bag to keep things in. I figured she probably needed it more than I did and I will be getting more bags anyway!

Lone Ranger Makeup Look

This was a fun look to create and for all of you who are not interested in dramatic looks, just take off the wings and go for a pretty subtle pink summer look!

I am so excited to see Armie Hammer as John Reid aka the Lone Ranger! SO of course I had to do a tutorial.

Products Used:      - Too Faced Shadow Insurance
     - ULTA Eyeshadows in Organza, Flirty, & Pink
     - NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
     - MICA Beauty Gel Liner
     - Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara
     - Clinique Chubby Stick in Strawberry
     - Joelle Bronzer

Smoky Emerald Eyes Using ONE Brush!!!

I came up with this look on St. Patty's Day, BUT since these are the next three colors in the set, the color of the year is emerald, and green eyeshadow is amazing, I decide this would be a good makeup tutorial to share with you guys. So Happy St. Patrick's Day all year round!

And now about the video; I decided that because not everybody wants to buy a whole set of brushes or ten billion brushes like me, I wanted to share with you the brush I think is most valuable and to show you how to use it in different ways, I made this video to show you guys how to do smoky eyes with only one brush! This look can be done with any color, but I chose green, because I love green eyeshadow and this was the next set of colors for the Stars & Daylilies series. All you need is your favorite color and then a shade dark and lighter or black and white. Smoky eyes are really very simple after a few practices, but like most things, it does take practice, so do not get discouraged if you do not get it right the first time. Even I messed up on my eyeliner while filming this video. Still, the show must go on and I fixed it as best as I could to provide you all with an awesome finished look! So enjoy!

I did this look a lot during March, so there are many pictures!

I think this is a very fun look and if you like dramatic eyes, this could even be an everyday look. This is something I would wear if I was going to class, on St. Patty's Day of course, for a night out. It reminds me of Tinker Bell, so it would probably work great with any kind of fairy costume or elfish costume. I wore this to church and school, so for me it's casual, but for some people it may not be.

Products Used:
     - Bamboo Crease Brush from Icing by Claire's
     - ULTA Eyeshadow in Sage, Verdigris, & Khaki
     - Good Girl Eyeshadow Quad from ULTA (skin color)
     - NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Golden
     - Clinique Mascara
     - ULTA Lipstick in Smoky Quartz
     - Mahogany Magic Nail Polish from China Glaze
     - An old mirror metallic polish from AVON I cannot remember the name of, but can be substituted for Nails Inc. London Special Effects Mirror Metallic collection

I hope you guys are inspired! Don't forget God gave us all different gifts for doing certain things well. Don't waste your talent! Find your gift and use it to glorify HIM! Romans 12:6

For the nails I just applied two coats of Mahogany Magic over a China Glaze Base Coat and then I painted the mirror color onto a rolled up ball of plastic wrap, and pressed it like a stamp onto my nails. I like this much better than the crackle polish, and it gives it a fun geode-like look!

AddiUpdate for May 2013

- Entertainment News
- May ipsy glam bag
- April Favorites
...And yet even without the ipsy glam bag this was still one of my longest videos ever!

I hope you enjoy this video! You may have to watch part of it and then come back later for the rest because this thing goes on forever!

So let's talk about this entertainment news! The Vampire Diaries and Beauty & the Beast just had their season finales last week and I am glad to announce the vampires will be returning in the fall with not one, but two series! The Originals is a new show based off of a group of vampires in the Vampire Diaries. This show is set in New Orleans, where Klaus reunites with an old acquaintance. I do not want to give away anything, so let's just leave it at this; brothers Klaus and Elijah, two of the original vampires, decide to stay in New Orleans for some very interesting reasons that you will have to watch the show to find out. Beauty & the Beast will also be returning in the fall with an all new season!

Question; Why is it called "The Lone Ranger" if he is not actually alone? He's got Tonto...who will be played by Johnny Depp in the new movie coming to theaters this July! I will be posting a makeup tutorial inspired by "The Lone Ranger". I would like to make a look for Percy Jackson as well, but I don't know what I want to do for that one yet.

Thor 2 (Thor: The Dark World) will come out November 8 and Hunger Games: Catching Fire will come out November 22.

Elena Gilbert Makeup Tutorial

So with the Vampire Diaries season 4 coming to an end, I decided to do a makeup tutorial for Elena Gilbert, and I know this is way overdone in the makeup tutorial world, but I really wanted to do a Vampire Diaries look and the colors this time around were perfect for Elena so here it is!

The nice thing about the way they do Elena's makeup for Vampire Diaries is it is a very natural, simple, but universally beautiful, everyday look. I think that is probably why there are so many tutorials out there for her look. Now Elena has dark hair, dark eyes, and bronze skin, so the eye makeup I am wear looks slightly different on me than it does on her. I'm mainly using the Ulta 77-Piece Day, Night & Play Collection Makeup Kit. They no longer have this specific kit, but they come out with new kits all the time and the colors are pretty much the same in each kit. There might be a few new colors in each kit. You can also buy the colors individually. Right now, Ulta has this deal going on where if you buy $19.50 worth of Ulta product, you get a 10 piece Ulta set of your choice for free, plus a free eyeshadow of your choice, and an eyeliner of your choice free. You cannot use clearance items and certain brushes in your $19.50 buy, but I still think this is an awesome deal. You could easily do this look with any one of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I am pretty sure I also have all of these colors in one of my compacts from AVON. So the colors are easy enough to find. These are pretty basic colors. They work well with any eye color and if you are just starting to wear makeup, these are the colors you want to get into first, and then move on to brighter colors once you have shading down.

Products used: - Too Faced Shadow Insurance
          - Good Girl Eyeshadow Quad from Ulta (shimmery nude color)
          - Ulta Kit eyeshadows; In The Buff, Cafe Ole, & Mink
          - Maybelline Define-A-Line Eyeliner in Ebony
          - Clinique Mascara
          - Joelle Bronzer & Blush
          - Super Strawberry Chubby Stick from Clinique

I apologize for not having very many tutorials and AddiUpdates have been late. I have one week left of school and then I am done with the semester and hopefully I will have more videos up to make up for not being around the past couple months.
